Building The Dream Life—Meet Claudia Foster

If someone asked you to choose between your dream of owning a business and your dream of having a family, what would you choose? Trick question. You truly can have it all, and that's exactly the "dream life" Claudia Foster, owner of Dream Life Boutique, envisioned. In 2014, she gave up sacrificing time with her 3 kids and decided to take matters into her own hands by fulfilling her dreams without leaving her loved ones. The loss of the business in November of 2023 didn't stop her—a month later, she was back with a new website and a new perspective. Now, Dream Life Boutique is back on Jane, ready to give back to the community that lifted them up in times of struggle.

What does a typical "day in your life" look like?

"My day starts early with a refreshing devotional, followed by taking the kids to school before returning home to dive into work. After picking them up from school—and hopefully remembering to squeeze in a quick lunch—I take them to sports practice. In the evenings, I cook dinner with my husband, who I nearly lost at the end of July when he spent almost two weeks in the ICU and was gone for almost six minutes, the longest of my life! That experience has made me reflect on how important it is to cherish and express love to those closest to us. After dinner, it’s back to work!"

How did you decide to become a small business owner?

"We needed a higher income without leaving my kids. We had 3 kids and a dog at that time."

Are you currently working on any new projects or products?

"Yes, I’m expanding to include accessories after previously focusing solely on clothing. I’m also planning to introduce a high-end clothing line."

Why do you love being a small business owner?

"I love being a small business owner because it allows me to prioritize my family while managing my time. I get to bring my own ideas to life in the store, hand-pick the products, and choose the people I work with—who make the process fun and rewarding. Plus, owning a business gives me the opportunity to give back in a more meaningful way."

What or who inspires you?

"Jesus is my inspiration in everything I do. I strive to follow His teachings so I can become a better version of myself and serve others. I admire how He always put others first, and one of my goals is to help people on a greater scale next year. Thanks to owning my own business, I can see that goal coming closer to reality."

What excites you about your future as a Jane seller?

"In 2014, Jane gave me the opportunity to bring my dream to life by running a small business while still being home with my kids. The early years with Jane were incredible for small business owners. Now, I’m excited about a fresh start with Jane, hoping for the same, if not better, support from the new ownership and a renewed chance to thrive in today’s economy."

What does it mean to YOU to be a Jane seller?

"It feels like we're returning to the roots of the business that helped me succeed. I’m genuinely excited and hopeful about what’s ahead."

What's one thing you absolutely cannot live without?

"Coffee….I am Colombian and coffee is all!"
